Welcome to ECON RADIO! (Scroll down for the station)
Being that music for many of us creates a helpful environment for when we work , I have created our own class radio station, EconRadio.
We all have music that we enjoy however, I think this station will be a nice to share each others music interests, or to get interested in music, which has been such an important part of my life. Therefore, this station will be open to for all you to go in and add your favorite songs, and I encourage you to do so even if it is one song.
To do so go to grooveshark.com/econradio.
Log in using the following username and password:
After you do so then it is very easy to choose songs for our playlist. Type in the Group/ Musician you would like to hear in thesearch bar. Find the song you want, and use the options to the right of the song to add it to our playlist. You do this by clicking on the down arrow (the fourth button) which gives you the options to do so.
It looks like this. Click on “Add to Playlist”, and chooseECONRADIO! Your song will then be added and ready will be ready for us all to listen to.
I ASK THAT EACH STUDENT ADD NO MORE THAN 10 SONGS.
Why do we went music in our classroom at times?
Studies show that Music opens up the creative part of your brain, it also helps many of us focus, and increases our productivity and alertness, especially if it is Classical Music. For those of you not accustom to listening to music it might seem distracting at first, but over time it will more than likely become beneficial to you in doing work. Obviously, there are arguments to a lot of the studies out there, therefore at times we will listen to music while we work, and other times not.
Here is an article I read a while back that demonstrates the benefits of music while we work. I believe the 7 Dwarfs had it right!
